Education and Experience

1.         Minimum 3 years of Senior EMS Leadership Experience.

2.         Current Paramedic License.

3.         Experience practicing as a Paramedic within the last 5 years

4.         Comprehensive understanding of EMS systems.

5.         Associated Degree Required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

6.         No felony convictions

7.         Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.

8.         Exceptional Communication, leadership, and personnel management skills.

9.         Ability to foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

Job Summary

  • The President and CEO is responsible for the overall administration and management of the operation of the company. The director shall have the necessary authority to affect this responsibility, subject to such policies as may be adopted by the Board, Members of the Corporation or any committees to which the Board has delegated power for such action. The President and CEO shall, unless otherwise expressly provided, be an ex officio member without vote of all management committees and shall act as the duly authorized representative of the Board of Directors in all matters except those in which the Board has formally designated some other person or group to act.

Duties and Responsibilities  

1.  Participates with the Board in charting the course the company is to take in
      response to developing needs of the community.

  • Evaluates the impact of external forces on the company, recommended range plans that support the company's philosophy and general objectives.

  • Informs the Board of current trends, issues, problems, and activities in health care                      transportation in community health needs, and in the company to facilitate policy making.  Recommends company policy positions concerning; legislation, government administrative  policies, and other matters of policy.

  • Helps with the identification of potential Board   members

2.   Ensures the attainment of company objectives through the selection, development,
      motivation, and evaluation of company personnel.

  •  Develops personnel accountabilities and evaluates performance regularly.

  • Establishes appropriate departmentalization and delegation.

  • Negotiates professional contracts and sees that appropriate salary structures are developed and maintained. 

  • Helps prevent occupational mishaps.
              
              

3.    Monitors the adequacy of the company's clinical activities through the Coordination with the                 Board, medical community, and staff, and the policies needed to ensure acceptable health care            services.

  • Ensures operational stability by creating a working environment that is
    satisfactory to staff.

  • Ensures the quality of care within the company in consultation medical, and
    company staff.

  • Appropriately represents the Board to the clinical staff.

 

4.     Promotes health care transportation services that are produced in a cost-effective
         manner (trying to employ economy while maintaining an acceptable level of quality).

  • Assures the sound fiscal operation of the company including timely, accurate, and comprehensive development of an annual budget and its implementation.

  • Plans for capital equipment through budget process.

  • Arranges contractual relationships with consultants, contractors, etc., on behalf of the Board in planning and developing facilities, finances, personnel programs, and strategic plans.

  • Utilizes organizational resources in such a way as to maximize quantity and/or quality to obtain a set of results.

 

5.   Ensures compliance with regulations governing ambulance services and the rules of accrediting          bodies by continually monitoring the organization's service delivery and initiating changes as               required. Coordinates litigation for the company and reports to the Board.

 

6.    Works with legislators, regulatory agencies and representatives of the industry to
       assure that legislative and regulatory policies promote the health of the Community and do                   not place unmanageable encumbrances upon the company. Supports state and national                       associations.

 

7.      Develops, implements, and monitors policies and procedures appropriate to the
         day-to-day operation of the company and sees that these are readily available, such as                         through staff handbooks and manuals.

 

8.     Encourages the integration of the company within the community by using effective                              communication and public relations programs.

  • Listens to the staff and volunteers to improve services and generate community involvement with the company. Speaks to community group concerning health transportation problems and new programs.

  • Represents the Board to the community and the company in state and national associations concerned with health care transportation delivery.

  • Initiates, develops, and maintains cooperative relationships with the business
    community and with other ambulance services.

 

9.     Fosters a smoothly functioning, efficient organization through timely and effective resolution of             disruptions

Tri-Hospital EMS is seeking a dynamic, mission-driven leader to serve as our President and CEO. This executive role offers the opportunity to shape the future of a respected EMS organization.
